Meet Jessica

South Carolina-native turned true Texan, Jessica Buvinghausen is a Jill-of-all-trades. After becoming a mom in 2010, she put her career as an experienced emergency veterinary technician on the sidelines and changed her role to preschool teacher so she could spend more time with her young sons. In 2015, Jessica added real estate to her wide array of skills by becoming an agent.

 

Jessica was drawn to the industry after she and her veterinarian husband made their own property-buying dreams a reality by purchasing a ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas, with her in-laws. The family used a local father-and-son-owned brokerage, and the father immediately became like family to the Buvinghausens, who were purchasing the land to one day leave to their children. Jessica was so inspired by the experience that she pursued getting her license.

 

The transition into real estate came easy to the vet tech, who considers herself a people person. She loves building new relationships and being a solid foundation for her clients as they navigate the sometimes stressful process. Jessica works with all kinds of clients, with a special focus on those in the military. Her father is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, so Jessica understands the pressures military families face. Though there are not many in the Houston area, they hold a special place in her heart.

 

Jessica is also motivated by the ever-changing pace of the market. As a mom of three boys, she knows how to multi-task and balance projects. When the busy mom gets some downtime — and isn’t spending time raising Monarch butterflies with her sons or helping her husband manage their family-owned and operated veterinary hospital— she loves to crochet, cycle, volunteer at her sons’ school, and teach preschool at her church in Katy. She also serves as a local coordinator for the Council for Education Travel, USA, in Houston, which places foreign exchange students with host families.
